That’s why we’re here.

St. Francis - Emory Healthcare's rehabilitation and sports medicine specialists offer expertise in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and athletic training treatments.

When you have an orthopedic injury, condition, or surgery, rehabilitation is a vital component to your recovery – helping decrease your pain, improve your strength and flexibility, and enhance your coordination and endurance.

Who is a Good Candidate?

We provide rehab services for those who experience aches, pains, surgery recovery, debilitating illness, trauma, stroke, joint replacement, fractures, back/neck problems, speech difficulty, developmental disabilities, balance issues, amputations, wounds, and more.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

We offer Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies on an inpatient basis, as well. Each patient is evaluated after a physician referral, and an individualized treatment plan is established, based on the findings. The therapist comes to the patient to provide the appropriate interventions. Therapy is available up to 7 days a week during the hospital stay, based on patient needs and therapist recommendations.

Rehabilitative Therapy Specialties

Occupational Therapy (OT): treatment plans address conditions such as hand, elbow, and shoulder dysfunction and/or disabilities including stroke, acute trauma, fractures, inflammation or dislocations, and other chronic repetitive injuries; coordination problems and weakness; and how these conditions may impact activities of daily living.

Physical Therapy (PT): treatment plans address orthopedic conditions such as joint replacement, fractures, osteoarthritis, low back pain, TMJ, and chronic repetitive injuries. PT can also address neurological disorders and developmental delays.
